DESCRIPTION:Overson’s Pelican Lake Resort and Inn\n4675 US-53\nOrr\,  MN  55771 \nhttps://ovepelicanlakeresortandinn.com \n218-757-3613 \nWe stayed at this resort last year and they were very accommodating and the riding was great.   This location provides for many riding options.  We can ride north towards Lake Kabetogema and Crane Lake or ride south towards Cook\, Tower\, and Lake Vermillion. \n20 rooms are reserved under Westonka Snoblazers.   Members get a discounted room rate of $100 instead of the normal $119 rate.   Rooms are held until sold out or until January 2nd. \nThere will also be a vintage snowmobile show at Melgeorge’s Elephant Lake Lodge on Saturday which is about an hour’s ride north of Orr.  Some members may wish to incorporate a stop at this show as part of their ride. \nBe advised that this resort requires a 2 week notice to cancel. \nContact Jeff Krahl with questions  612-730-9985

The Hill Top restaurant is about 2 blocks down the trail for Breakfast. Keep I mind there is no food nor fuel till we reach Big Bay. Bring water & such if you prefer. Distance from L’anse to Big Bay: About 70 miles.\nBig Bay to Marquette: 40 to 50 miles\, Most direct.\nFeb 15th\, we depart Marquette & head back to L’Anse. There are several different routes one can take\, this will be up to the individual and or group. Feb. 16th. Play time is over\, Time to head home. \nBetween L’Anse and Big Bay there is NO gas\, stores\, nothing but wilderness. It is very important your machine & gear are in good operational condition\, FULLY FUELED & ready. We came to ride\, not inconvenience fellow club members because of failing to do maintenance & preparations. In route to Big Bay\, We can take the Trail to the top of Mount Arvon\, Michigan’s highest point. Often times you can’t see anything due to clouds & snow but one never knows! It’s still a fun route. \nFuel your sleds when arriving into Big Bay & Lunch will be at Thunder Bay Inn. A call will be made to insure they will be ready for us. Next destination will be the Holiday Inn in Marquette. I was told there is now a trail to a gas station just prior to arriving at the Holiday Inn.\nWith a group of this size it’s best to break up into 2 or 3 groups & leave a 20 minuet gap between each group. First group out should be the fast group. Followed by the more relaxed groups.\nFor those who have not been on this trip. It is a somewhat relaxed ride. Not crowded like the Keweenaw Peninsula can be. Wide winding trails in route to Big Bay. The upper ½ of this trip is remote. Southern part can be rail road bed type trails to very demanding technical trails. Mileage can vary depending on route\, 130 miles to over 250 miles.\nI have traveled these trails several times. Each time was a pleasure\, trails were flat and groomed to perfection. This area does not see the pressure of other areas within the Upper Peninsula. The trails generally remain flat & groomers to run on a regular schedule.\nLook forward to seeing you there!

DESCRIPTION:Join the Snoblazers on a club trip to Walker MN. \nWe are staying at Chase On The Lake Resort. \nBook your reservation by calling the resort and booking your own reservation – however\, tell them you are part of a group reservation under Snoblazers Snowmobile Club.    \nSpecial room rates have been arranged:\n   Classic Rooms  $109/night\n   Lakeview Rooms  $119/night\n   Condo rooms are available too from $179 – $229    \nYou can bring your non-riding spouse or friend as Walker has things to do and restaurants to try.  \nFriday after arrival – There is not a scheduled or planned ride – you are on your own.   Routes\, fuel stops\, lunch stops will be discussed in the bar Friday evening. \nSaturday Morning:   Everyone should be dressed and ready to go by 8:45.   Your machines should be fueled up and ready to go.   We will have a quick meeting to discuss safety and riding styles.   Typically\, we will break up into groups.   Those that wish to ride more miles\, faster riding\, and those with more riding experience will depart first.    Those that wish a more leisurely ride will depart 15 minutes or so after.   We will have a lunch spot or 2 figured out.   Each group will have someone that will navigate and lead.   \nSaturday Evening:   Generally\, after the ride we will hit the hot-tub\, then showers\, then bar/dinner.   Sometimes we have a group dinner planned.  Details TBD. \nSunday:   This is Superbowl Sunday.   Most folks will depart in the AM.   Some may wish to ride some more.\n

DESCRIPTION:We will be assisting Southwest Trails Association with the marking of trails. \nSouthwest Trails has assigned 6 sections of trails to the Snoblazers.   Each section has a person that is in charge.   Ryan Haug is our Trail Coordinator. \nTrail Section Leaders may choose to do their sections on their own\, most sections will need additional helpers. \nOn Saturday\, November 23\, we will meet up at 10:00 am.  Please wear work gloves and boots as we will be walking through ditches\, farm fields\, etc.    If you have a sledge hammer\, bring it.   Meet at the parking lot next to Missile Park in St. Boni.   Volunteers will then break up into teams with each Trail Section Leader taking people as needed.   Trail Section Leaders will have the signs and tools.    \nOnce completed\, we will meet at Grumpy’s bar at which time Southwest Trails will buy us pizzas for lunch.   Beverages are on your own.

Look for the missile! We hope to see you there 🙂 \n \nFrom our new trail coordinator: The majority of us were finally able to ride locally this winter. If this applies to you\, please take a moment to think of any areas where signage could be improved\, routing changed\, or note areas where sled traffic was consistently off the marked trail. Be observant as we walk the trails again to remove signs. Please send Ryan an email with your observations and suggestions. Ryan will work with the trail bosses to see what can be done. Reservations are in my name. Although the group name is “SNOBLAZERS”\, they said that you need to change any of the unconfirmed reservations that are in my name to your name and put down your cc# to confirm. Cancellation is 72 hours prior. \nSunday January 20th: We ride back to Tofte\nStay at Americinn: Make your reservation by calling 218-663-7899 and ask for the block called “SNOBLAZERS 2” This is a separate block from the Friday block – make sure you have 2 separate reservations at Americinn – 1 for each block. Cancellation is 48 hours prior. \nMonday January 21: Check out and drive back to Mound \nAny unreserved rooms are released on Monday November 26 (right after Thanksgiving) \nAlternates: This will be a fairly long ride each way. You could shorten it by starting and ending in Grand Marais. Or if you don’t want to back pack\, you can stay in Tofte and ride with us to Hungry Jacks on the Gunflint trails and then go back when we head towards Grand Portage. You will have to make/alter your own arrangements. \nBack-Up Plan: I will not be making a back up plan. In case of no snow\, this trip will be cancelled. But you will need to cancel your own reservations.
