Kurt Elected to Treasurer of Southwest Trails Association
Snoblazers Vice President Kurt Silton was nominated for position of Treasurer for SWTA starting this fall
At our November Snoblazers’ meeting, we will ask for a new board member to join the Snoblazers’ Board. We won’t propose to promote anyone to VP for this season.
Club Trips

Criteria: minimum of 15 rooms & everything underneath one roof
Mark Hokanson to coordinate Big Sandy trip, January 20-22 (the weekend before Waconia Vintage Show), Hamel trip is this weekend too
Andy Anderson, may coordinate trip to Antler Lodge in February
Communication for club trips – Idea to use Team Snap App to RSVP, can send texts and emails, everyone would have to have the app, Amanda is looking into details & will bring to November meeting
Adopt a highway
Fall Cleanup – Today Tuesday, October 11th – 6PM
Meet at 6PM sharp at the intersection of Townline Road & County Road 6
Get together at the Ox Yoke after to use your $10 gift certificate that you earned from your help!
JD volunteered to take over the coordination of this event for the spring – picking up the plastic bags and calling the day after for the county to pick up the bags. Thank you JD! We love volunteers.
Updates from Ross Bingham
Ross Bingham to propose details
MN Snow Rad (Rider Assist Directory) – this is a new program that MnUSA is offering to their members that needs some participation. There are 5 levels of participation
- Will accept phone calls (trail conditions and information; in need of help; etc.)
- Will provide a trailer and tow vehicle
- Have a heated garage
- Have tools/welder available
- Would be willing to guide

Youth Snowmobile Training Course with the DNR
11-15 year olds would participate in the training course
Other organizations offering the same thing: Scott Warner in Waconia – fills up, Snomads – 2-4 hours of web based training + 3 hours of in class + riding class – fill up every year, Randy Bauber of NWT – 80 kids in one class & fills up every year
Ross is asking for any volunteers to get certified as an instructor, we would need 3-4 instructors
Could help us recruit some new club members too
Logistical concerns – only 2 classes to get certified through the DNR (Tuesdays – Nov 15 or Oct 25), Depot would be free to host the classroom at, Hennepin County Sherriff’s station does not host it anymore
Snomads have hosted the Sunday, last day of the Christmas vacation

Proposed dates – Saturday, November 19th & Sunday the 20th (Or you can go out & mark before, signs have to be put in before December 1st)
Map with trail segments by boss will be available next meeting
SWTA to purchase lunch after at Grumpy’s in St Boni
Trail coordinators – go out check it out and tighten signs that were loose
Wearables
Get a great deal on our current inventory of wearables while they last! Hats, sweatshirts, fleece zipups and more! – We sold $120 worth of wearables at our October meeting! Thanks for all of your support J
