About Us

Westonka Snoblazers was formed in 1972. We are a group of snowmobile enthusiasts who live in the Lake Minnetonka area.

CLUB MEETINGS:

Our club meets the first Tuesday of each month October – April. We meet promptly at 7:00 pm at the Ox Yoke Inn. All members as well as prospective new members are welcome to join us. Come earlier if you wish to order food so that the meeting is not interrupted. At our meetings, we will discuss our club trips – local and out of town. We will discuss our trails, as well as what is happening statewide. We will discuss our fundraising, community involvement, charitable donations, and youth training. Be involved in your sport – join us!

LOCAL TRAILS:

The local trails in the Lake Minnetonka area with the exception of the Luce Line Trail are all developed and maintained by our club. We are all volunteers. Please respect the landowners that give us permission to ride on their property. Please stay on the trail. Please don’t have a loud can on your machine on our trails.

SOUTHWEST TRAILS ASSOCIATION:

The Westonka Snoblazers is one of several clubs that make up Southwest Trails Association (SWTA). SWTA is the official legal entity that owns and operates the grooming equipment and receives trail funding from the DNR. Other clubs that make up SWTA are the Carver County SnowRunners and the Chaska Sno Hawks. Each of the individual social clubs that make up SWTA are responsible for development and marking the trails in their area.

MNUSA:

MNUSA – Minnesota United Snowmobile Association is the statewide organization that represents all of us at the state level. MNUSA has a lobbyist who defends our trails with MN lawmakers. MNUSA works closely with the DNR on trails issues, access, and infrastructure.

SUMMARY:

When you are part of a snowmobile club such as the Westonka Snoblazers, you are part of the team that makes snowmobiling possible in Minnesota. You can participate as much or as little as you wish. We have fun on our trips, we have fun yakking about machines, we have fun working on our trails. Join us!
