Greetings all,
Great turnout for last nights meeting! A full house and a few new faces.
A special welcome to all new and returning members. Those who mentioned being prior members, why not rejoin? Its fun to belong…
Kurt has the website calendar up to date so check it out for all the dates set last night.
Also, the private Facebook page has some great participation already. I can’t wait to see how this works we our events get rolling.
Sounds like an Orr trip will be coming for March, details to be shared at the December meeting. Andy may also be setting up an Antler trip for earlier in February. (a bit smaller hotel but has a great party room to take over)
The holiday party is on for Dec 17. (Thanks to Mark L.) Grumpys at 6:30 Dec 17. I’ll bring a pot luck signup sheet to the December meeting.
Joy has some new wearable items coming. Lighted and custom embroidered hats (mine will say Rusty) as well as new shirts with logo will be available for purchase,
I hope see a good turn out for trail marking Nov, 23, Gather 10am at Weapon of mass destruction park in San Bonefeo. Pizza at Grumpys to follow.
Nancy will bring raffle tickets for the ALS ride to the Dec meetup. Please consider a donation to this worthy cause.
We have been asked to participate in the Excelsior sled dog race Sunday, Feb 9. Sounds fun! Anyone interested please let me know and I’ll inform them of our intentions. (attaching the text of their overture at the end of this email)
Now for some very good news. We have a new board member/secretary. I know you will all miss my irreverent style but the charter requires so dudes will abide.
If you are interested in the vintage show volunteer opportunity a link to sign up will be sent out as soon we get it. This is largely our only source of income so please consider working a shift or two and checkout the new facility.
Finally, please Ross if you would like to participate in youth training. The future of our sport depends on it.
Enjoy the day, I am.

I’m writing to you about getting some volunteers with the
upcoming Klondike Dog Derby on Sunday, February 9th 2020. This is a historic
dog sled race that was in Excelsior from 1931-1974 and is coming back again!
The course starts/finishes in Excelsior and runs 40 miles on the lower lake of
Lake Minnetonka. We’re looking for a team of snowmobilers to help with course
operations and course safety during the race. I’m wondering if this is
something fun that your club would be interested in partnering on.
I’m more than happy to meet with you or chat over the phone to fill in
additional details or answer any questions. Our website is also a great
resource for quick info: https://www.klondikedogderby.com/
Thank you so much!
Best,
Jen Weiss
